Lance Armstrong and some supporters have been named in a whistleblower lawsuit filed by Armstrong’s former teammate Floyd Landis and the case was brought under the False Claims Act. Landis alleges Armstrong engaged in doping. Other defendants include Tailwind Sports Corporation, Montgomery Sports Inc. Armstrong has denied using performance enhancing drugs. The apparent basis of filing this kind of lawsuit is that Armstrong’s team was funded by the U.S. Postal Service from 2002-2004. The whistleblower lawsuit allows for a reward of upto 25% of what the recovers for the whistleblower who brings forward the information.
